Also, because my sister and her husband are leaving tomorow (along with their sons :-( I will miss the little monsters) we had another round of Christmas where they gave us all our presents and we gave them ours and we all opened them together. As a result of Extra Christmas in November I made the following musical acquisitions:

Pay particular note to the first one... Yes. That's right.

I HAVE FINALLY GOT IN MY POSESSION, MUTE MATH'S SELF-TITLED ALBUM. Thankyou Ceara and Dan. Thankyou thankyou.

Let me just say that Mute Math is totally awesome and that the album didn't let me down after waiting for it for over two years. Plus I got the special edition one that includes a bonus live EP which is pretty good but not as good as the album. I would rather see them actually live.

Also, I have WOW Hits 2007 to add to my WOW collection. They are generally pretty good compilations and I hope this one doesn't dissapoint me after the amazing compilation that was 2006.

Also, damn this link to hell. It's spot on. Is doing your own movie reviews such a bad thing? Is it? Grr.

Fillet

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-11-30T09:27:22Z</dcterms:modified>

Ok, so I lied. And I have a new CD. That is not a lie.

I'm back. Properly back. I just wanted you all to be jealous of me. My weekend of good times is over and you can all start annoying me again. Hehe. But not too much.

In other news I have broken all my rules and have bought a CD in the month coming up to Christmas. It's Sufjan Stevens' Michigan. I bought it because I couldn't find it in any stores on the Gold Coast up until now and didn't want to risk asking for it for Christmas and someone not getting it for me becasue they couldn't find it and then when I went back to the store someone had already bought it for someone else for Christmas.

Person: "Oh thank goodness, my son has been asking for this CD for months! I've finally found it!"

Shopkeeper: "Yep, and we only ordered one so that only one person in this entire city would get the CD"

Rohan (some months later): "Damnit!"

So I decided to avoid that entire sticky situation and just purchase it now.

So yeah, it's a pretty sweet album. Definately by Stevens. Speaking of Stevens, here is an article that I came across about him. It's a weird article, I think that not a lot of thought went into it because it goes on saying good things about him and then it suddenly changes and says that he's crap. So I don't really get it. You can make up your own mind HERE.

Here is a song from that album that I particularly like, mostly because of the Biblical references in it and the wonderful music. It also gives an idea of Stevens' writing style:

Vito's Ordination Song

(Sufjan Stevens)

I always knew you.

In your mother's arms,

I have called your name.

I've an idea placed in your mind

To be a better man.

I've made a crown for you,

Put it in your room.

When the bridegroom comes,

There will be noise, there will be glad

And a perfect bed.

And when you write a poem,

I know the words, I know the sounds

Before you write it down.

When you wear your clothes,

I wear them too, I wear your shoes,

And the jacket too.

I always know you.

In your mother's arms,

I have called you son.

I've made amends between father and son.

Or if you haven't one:

Rest in my arms. Sleep in my bed.

There's a design to what I did and said.

I love the references to Revelation in this song. It's one of my favourite books of the Bible! (I'm a freak I know). It's like an opera or a sci-fi. Very theatrical and interesting. I don't know why more people don't like to read Revelation but many people don't. Oh well, their loss.

This song has also set me off on a bit of a train of thought about the nature of worship to God and I may or may not write it down and post it in its own entry. I haven't decided yet.

Anyway, my Gran is doing better for now but I don't think it will last very long because they have her on a thing that will improve her temporarily but if she's on it for too long it will kill her quicker. We have relatives of hers filtering up to see her and we don't really know how much longer she will last. I will keep you all posted on what happens.

Goodbike~!

Fillet

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-11-26T12:13:44Z</dcterms:modified>

(Christian) Music Fandom In Australia

In the past week or so I’ve decided that it’s really, really difficult to be a proper music fan when you’re in Australia. What brought me to this realisation? MySpace mostly. Most of my favourite bands are either American or Australian, now living in America.

But there was also the issue of Audio Adrenaline, a band that I grew up listening to. Some Kind of Zombie will always hold a special place in my heart. I want to make a music video for that one day – I have a kick-arse idea for it. Oh yeah, music fandom. Anyway, Audio A are breaking up after 15 years because their lead singer is losing his voice. They are having a three-day extravaganza concert in Hawaii where the fans that can afford it go surfing with them and basically rock out with them for three days. Now, even a normal American wouldn’t be able to afford this (although I wish I could go) but what really breaks my heart is that I’ll never see this classic band in concert. Ever.

Did you hear what I said?

EVER!

Also, my favourite band, Relient K, have only ever (to my knowledge) been in Australia once, to the now extinct Sonfest. I have never seen them in concert. Ever. In fact, let’s add that to my list of life goals. See Relient K in concert.

Sorry. I’m rather passionate about the music that I like. I tend to live through it, like an ineffectual parent living through their talented child. I have no real musical talent myself you see. I suppose if you caught me on a good day I could sing you something, but nothing too high or too low. I sing constantly (as many of you will know). This sometimes confuses the customers that I serve.

When you look at the fans on band websites on MySpace, you see that they are really, really ungrateful for what they have. When a band cancels a concert for whatever reason they cry “Oh no! Now I can’t see you for the fifth time! How could you do this to me! Please come back soon, I really miss seeing you! :-(” Bands, particularly Christian bands, tour the States on a yearly basis. That is, every band goes around to each area of the States and puts on a show. People go to these shows and have a good time.

For me in Australia (I’m talking about Christian music) I have ONE event to attend, the Australian Gospel Music Festival. I love this festival. I love it. But not all the bands I like are there, it’s only a four-day festival! If I want to see Mute Math or Relient K or whoever I have to fly to the United States and see them there. Now seriously, who would ever do that just for one concert? It frustrates me because I know why they don’t come over here, there’s a limited audience (particularly for Christian music) and it basically isn’t worth their time unless it’s with AGMF. Also, AGMF is in Toowoomba. If you live in Darwin or Perth or even Melbourne (not to mention Hobart!) it’s a similar story to flying to the States. That is, apart from the fact that AGMF is a multitude of acts all in one place, making the trip more worth it.

So being a music fan in Australia means that you are a fan listening to albums almost exclusively. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it would be nice to go to a concert from time to time. You know, more than once a year out in Toowoomba of all places where there is no water (I’m not kidding, NO WATER as in literally none. No. Water. None. NONE! Get it? None.)

So why don’t I just like some bands in Australia and see them perform locally? Well that’s a great idea! And I do, from time to time but all the fun stops when they get popular and move Stateside. Again, I know why they do this, more audience, more money, more everything. If you make it in America you’ve essentially made it – the world will no doubt follow. But then the bands that I love to see locally aren’t here anymore. Alabaster Box did this, they moved only recently, but Rebecca St. James did it too ages ago (but I wasn’t a fan of hers when she did it, so I guess it’s ok) ;-)

Haha, I’m so whiney in this post. This mustn’t be much fun. I don’t blame these bands for what they do, it’s probably not even their choice where they go. I’m just lamenting the lack of a Christian music scene in Australia. I suppose it makes me truly appreciate it when I go to a show. There’s no way that I’d ever forget to go to a Relient K concert if they ever came to town (unlike those ‘fans’ on MySpace!). In fact, if they came to Brisbane or the Gold Coast it would make my day. No, my year! I have to say, seeing Andy Hunter perform was so very special for me this year. I smiled and smiled.

So please, American bands (and English ones and Canadian ones and Kiwi ones and etc) please come to this humble place called Australia. Then I will listen to the music that you play and I will smile. And blog about how awesome you are. And you know, my blog holds SO much influence on the internet so that may be a good idea. But you know, whatever.

I never listen to rock music when I'm tired. But here I am, rocking away.

In other rock related news Mute Math have just announced that their lawsuit is now over with (they won) so now they're releasing their album in the States on the 26th of September! *Cries with delight*.

*still crying*

....

Just give me a second.

*Wipes eyes*. Ok ok. All I can say is GO THE SYNTHESISER! I don't know if or when their album is going to be released here but that doesn't matter. My sister, Ceara, sent some pictures oh her kids to us so we rang her up to say "thankyou for the pictures" and while I was talking to her on the phone she asked me what I wanted from America for Christmas that she can bring over when she comes for my brother's wedding.

Guess what I'm asking for?

Ell. Oh. Ell my friends. Ell. Oh. Ell.

Plus now my patience from not ordering it online is paying off (I love it when things pay off!). The album is being remastered and for a limited time comes with a bonus live recording EP of one of their live shows. So you could say that I'm all set to dance. Even though Mute Math don't really do dance music. We'll call it... experimental.

By the way, a big shout out goes to the people in that there old shed at 107.3 FM who have linked me from their site. I didn't think that I'd get a whole lot of traffic from that link but according to my 'statistics' page, that's not so! I think it's just the radio announcers reading becasue they are bored and don't work hard enough... but that's fine. *titter*

Inner Voice: "Don't bite the hand that feeds you!"

Oh yeah. But enough with the cliches. Did I spell cliche right? I looked it up at www.dictionary.com but I'm still not sure.

Inner Voice: "If you're not sure, just don't use it!"

That inner voice, so guideworthy but so WRONG! I lost so many marks in English exams by going on that principle because my English teacher thought I had a small vocabulary but really I just couldn't spell the words I use in conversation. But Mute Math are releasing their album again, but this time in stores! How awesome is that?!? *dances... and cries*

We really did the other day. To those of my readers who do not speak French (and as to my knowledge there is only one who actually does. And even he does not speak the badly translated kind) you will just have to use Google language tools to find out exactly what I mean my that title. I'm not going to tell you otherwise. So there.

I didn't buy any though, I got too scared that I wouldn't wear some of the more rediculous ones that I had all lined up for me. We (that being me and my friend Jonathan from Brisbane) went into Brisbane city and trapsed around Queen Street Mall poking around in all manner of seedy-looking stores to find some more outlandish models of Chapeau but in the end neither of us actually bought one.

We did get talking to this girl from one store though who was very friendly and told us about one night when a guy got off a bus and started hitting on her pretending that a girl of exactly the same name had just given him her number. It sounds like a disjointed story now but really it made sense at the time. We also ate pancakes at this store that sold pancakes cheaper in the afternoons. We both had tea with our pancakes and it only cost us $4:40 each. Well, Jonathan did that very annoying old woman thing where he paid for mine and wouldn't let me pay him back so I guess it didn't cost me anything in the end.

So besides the pancakes we bought nothing else all day. That is, of course, until I wandered into Boarders Bookstore and started looking at the CDs (bad idea) what was I to find but the soundtrack of my favourite movie ever in the world, Amelie (technically Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain but its international release title is just Amelie). I tell this to you only so that when I'm on MSN and my 'what I'm listening to' comes up as a jumble of French gobldegook you won't all ask me why. But surely some of you will so that way I'll know who wasn't paying attention to the boring middle bits of my blogs. But then surely many of you will just ask me to screw me around, totally ruining my whole system. Besides that, $29.95 later I was in posession of a very lovely CD.

This movie, along with its music, makes me smile. I believe you can trace many of my life's policies (have I told you about my policy for making policies? No? Mabie another time) to that night sitting with my brother-in-law watching SBS when Amelie was on. What a clever movie. It makes my heart warm.

Or in the French tounge badly translated through Google, Quel film intelligent. Il rend mon coeur chaud.

And back again, Which intelligent film. It makes my heart hot.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-07-25T13:03:28Z</dcterms:modified>

What happened on Thursday

This story starts on Wednesday. That is the day that I went up to Word bookstore to buy some CDs that they had ordered for me.

Incidentally one of them was Andy Hunter's first album, Exodus, full of electronic goodness, the other was Rebecca St. James' latest album, If I Had One Chance To Tell You Something which is more rock than her previous albums. But never mind that now, I'll put reviews up for these albums on Moo Reviews.

Anyway, I get home that night and what happens? My computer doesn't read Andy Hunter's Exodus . It must be write protected or something. There are CDs from a particular year or something that just won't run on my PC. *anger*. This means that it doesn't go on my iPod. This means I listen to it much less. Do you have any idea how this makes me feel? Anyway, I was undeterred. I pulled out my 'old' discman. Boy it's a long time since I saw this thing. Of course, I have no batteries for it so I steal some from the digital camera. I'll be ready for tomorrow.

So, as the story goes, on Thursday I went into uni to finish an assignment and hand it in (I wasn't working thank goodness) and I brought Andy Hunter and my discman with me. Considering that my headphones, my real headphones that I got duty free going to South Africa the year before last that wrap over my head, would not be larger than the thing I was pluging them into I decided that I'd bring them too.

Hmm, that wasn't very clear. Let me explain. Normally I listen to an iPod mini (it's not considered so small anymore, it's much thicker than the full sized iPods now and it's only marginally smaller. It's also much heavier. But that's besides the point. You all know what an iPod mini looks like right? It's still pretty small). Whenever I plug my headphones into it the headphones are bigger than the iPod. This makes me feel stupid for some reason so I usually use the iPod earbuds that are very small but very pretentious and rather yuppie-ish.

I'm quite enjoying this new album of mine, I'm walking around with the discman tucked into my bag (as opposed to having my iPod tucked in my pocket) and I've got my headphones over my ears. I'm walking around and I notice I'm feeling... well, retro. Now tell me, I'm feeling retro when I'm using a CD? And other people were noticing as well. People were looking at me all funny (and I wasn't imagining this like I thought I was the first couple of times), giving my headphones strange glances. And don't even mention the looks I got when I pulled the discman out to adjust the volume. They were of genuine shock.

Now none of this worried me in particular but lugging a discman around is a pain in the posterior (something I never thought I'd say two years ago) so I need a way to get those songs off that CD and onto my computer and then on to my iPod. Right now. If the CD worked on someone else's PC could I then get the files off of them and put them on my own? That's my plan right now. I just kinda wish it was simpler than that.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-07-26T14:01:12Z</dcterms:modified>

AGMF (pronounced aye-gumff... no not really)

Me: "Hi Andy, would you sign my shoe for me?"

Andy: "Um, sure. Where would you like me to sign it?"

Me: "Oh, right on the toe there where it's white"

Andy: "Ok then. So where do you come from?"

Me: "Um, the Gold Coast"

Andy: "Oh I love the Gold Coast, I visited there just the other day"

Me: "Didja? How did you like it?"

Andy: "It was nice, ok, see you"

Me: "Yeah bye. See you tonight"

Yes, I rule. I got Andy Hunter to sign the toe of my black Converse Allstar (the left one). After I left the signing tent and put my shoe on all the people who got him to sign his CDs were laughing at me but they also told me it was the best idea ever. I should really tell the story from the start.

I was standing in line to get Andy Hunter to sign some stuff but I had nothing for him to sign. I either have his CDs on order or I already own them and they're at home. So I walk into the tent empty handed, wracking my brains for something for him to sign when an idea springs to mind. I bend over and take off my left Connie, much to the consternation of the staff selling CDs. Mabie they thought I was going to throw it at him. So it comes time for him to sign my shoe and he actually wasn't as bemused as I thought he'd be. He was a little bit amused though. I'm glad.

If you haven't guessed I've had a renewed excitement for Andy Hunter because I saw him perform live at AGMF this year. To be honest with you, even though you've probably never heard of him (there were only about 10 people at the signing) his dance music rave is as much a highlight for me as the Newsboys or Rebecca St James. The thing I absolutely loved was that the whole 'party' was a time of really intense worship. Not like your average Chapel service or even anything like PlanetShakers. Everybody was dancing as a form of worship. And yes, even though I can't dance I participated from start to finish. And yes, I looked foolish but that's what happens when you worship anyway. Despite me looking like some sort of demented chicken I wouldn't have given that up for the world and also I wan't even the most unco person there.

Oh, and the Newsboys were spectacular. They had confetti guns and everything. You try not being impressed when you're in the middle of a mosh pit and having the Newsboys singing "and they all fall/ like a million rain drops/ a tickertape parade high/ now you're free to fly" when two giant guns suddenly start spurting tickertape at you. They also had these jets of steam that exploaded from the stage from time to time and Peter Furler did this sermon thing that was very profound.

Rebecca St James was lovely as always. She is such a good performer and worship leader.

So I've made it sound like it was all some crazy worship fest so far but it was really far from it. It was very casual and relaxed with different bands performing here and there. Some did some pretty crazy stuff like dancing on top of speakers elevated high over the crowd. I loved finding little gems of Australian bands in the smaller tents. I bought too much stuff though. I bought this EP that was released at the festival from a band called twentyfourfeet who are originaly from Perth but now live in Melbourne. They were all emos but they were really good and for some reason they played Ska. So now I have their CD and it's quickly becoming a favourite of mine. I also bought an EP of a band the Viv knows the members of and they are pretty good too. I also bought a CD by Shawn McDonald. He didn't play at the festival but I couldn't get it on the Coast last time I tried so when I saw it I snapped it up.

Also I bought a CD by Parachute Band for my partents because it's their birthdays today and tomorrow. They are both very old. Haha. Parachute Band is the Kiwi's answer to Hillsong and they're very good. I think they won a Dove Award for 'Best International Artist' just recently. They played at the festival and they were great.

AND I bought a shirt. Christian fashion can either be increadibly corny or delightfully different. The shirt has a big red brushstroke line on it that goes from the right shoulder to about the navel and on the left shoulder it has the Chinese symbol for 'forever' and it says forever underneath that. The people I bought it off were Chinese I think. I was also going to buy this shirt with a huge gothic-styled angel on the front with it's wings spread out, spanning from one shoulder to the other. It was holding a huge sword. I really liked the look of it because it was so different but I had to restrain myself otherwise I would have just kept spending.

So that's long enough I guess. Come with me next time! Sure, I had heaps of people there I knew... Vivienne, Katie, Niki, Lucy (athough I didn't see her very much) and a whole hoast of other people from Hillcrest and/or Reedy Creek. I even bumped into Mr Lethlein or however you spell his name, my old science teacher and he's supposed to be in London! (he was on holidays here with his wife).

So be there next time!

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-08-03T12:44:01Z</dcterms:modified>

My song lyric fetish (humour me)

I think I'm gonna link this blog entry in a list and add more and more lyrics to it until it becomes a giant Rohan favourite lyric list! Check on it periodicly and it will have grown since the last time. I'll try and have at least one from each artist on my 'Bands that Rock' list on here and I'll definately have more than one from Relient K. Matt Thiessen is a lyrical wordsmith of absolute wonderment I swear. So here they come. Marvel at their profundity. Speculate on their meaning. Wonder at why Rohan likes these lyrics.

"It's a bit passionate for your radio

But that's alright though it's good for your soul

It feels so good to be out of control"

(John Reuben)

I love this one. It's kinda heavy metal and very nice.

"Your love, your love is like a beetroot stain

It never ever goes away

From me

Your love, you love is with me every day

I know your love is here to stay

With me"

(The Lads)

Sure, they're from Wellington but they play some nice songs. AND they inspired the longest and strangest email I know of... MINE!

"This is how I choose to live

As if I'm jumping off a cliff

Knowing that you'll save me

Knowing that you'll save me

After all the stupid things I did

There's nothing left there to forgive

'Cause you already forgave me

Yeah you already forgave me."

(Relient K)

I just can't get over this song. I love the whole theme of danger and forgiveness (and the danger of forgiveness). It also has a totally awesome line from one of the verses but I can't recall it word for word right now.

"You remind me

Of a cigarette

You burn up slowly

And then go out like that

You make it harder

For me to breathe

You make my head hurt

You make my skin stink

...

I want more than

Just to try and love you

Jekyll and Hyde

...

I am willing to forgive

Are you willing to take ownership

Cause I'm so willing to forgive

We're only given one chance to live"

(Plumb)

I love the whole imagery of this song. I love you even though you're like Jekyll and Hyde, you hurt me so much but I'll stay faithful to you. You know who Jekyll and Hyde are don't you? The whole thing is actually very beautiful. Also I just like the analogy of someone being a cigarette. I can imagine someone saying to someone else 'you're such a cigarette'. It cracks me up.

"To life

To love..."

(Andy Hunter)

Love it. Just love it. It reminds me of the original Song of Songs context. "A toast to life! To love! They cry". It's actually very beautiful. The song is all electronica etc but I wouldn't call it danceable. It's one of my favourite songs though.

I'll have more. Just give me time. That beetroot stain one will surely answer a lot of questions though.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-04-01T04:12:14Z</dcterms:modified>

Music - My Complaints etc

Plus I'm trying out these 'categories' things to see how they work. These are about 'Christian' music in particular because that label comes with a slew of other problems.

My first gripe about music is that there are never ever any tours coming to Australia from any Christian band. AGMF in Toowoomba would be the only notable exception which would explain why it's so popular amongst, well... everybody. Apart from local bands (ie, Alabaster Box) there are no tours of Christian artists in Australia. Apparantly there's no market for them over here but I say that's rubbish. Sure, Australia lacks a Bible Belt where you're garaunteed a sellout show but I think AGMF proves that there is definately a market here for at least a few tours. I hate hearing about how awesome a particular live show was in this American city or that Canadian town. I want my favourite bands here! Where are you Relient K? When will you come over for more than one show at a time? Where are you Mute Math? When will you come and blow me away with your supposedly legindary live performances?

On the plus side I think Switchfoot are coming to Australia some time soon...

My next gripe is about the label 'Christian Music' itself. Now besides full on worship stuff like Hillsong or Planetshakers or Vinyard Music what actually makes a song too 'Christian' for a mainstream audience? I think that Lifehouse, Switchfoot, U2, Stacy Orrico, Andy Hunter and even to an extent Relient K have proved that a mainstream audience doesn't care about even overtly Christian lyrics. "I've got my hands/ at redemption's side/ whose scars are bigger than/ these doubts of mine" (Switchfoot, Redemption) or "There's gotta be more to life/ than chasing down every temporary high/ to statisfy me" (Stacy Orrico, More to Life). Why don't we just lump all music together like they do in Germany? All that would happen is it would force 'Christian artists' to come up with better music to compete with mainstream efforts and on hearing some of the better Christian hits there should be no problem in that. It would also stop some of the not-so-good Christian artists from just copying some mainstream sound and adding the word "Jesus". Even if they didn't do so well in mainstream charts they would still have the same audience that they enjoy today. They could still sell their albums in Christian Bookstores and people would still buy them.

The thing is that music producers have done the same thing to 'Christian music' as they have done to Country music. They've made seperate charts etc even though 'Christian music' is as diverse as mainstream when it comes to genre. I hate putting my CD's on iTunes and having all the genres come up as 'Gospel and Religious' when the music is obviously Rock or Ska or Electronica or whatever. So I change them manually to whatever I think is the genre that it is but it's very annoying. It's like Christian cultureal ghettoing. I say that unless the 'Christian music' in question is actual gospel music (which is a real genre of music) or praise and worship music (for example Hillsong etc) it should just be counted as whatever real genre of music it is and discounting what the lyrics say. Think about it, we don't have a 'Sex music' chart for music that talks about sex or a 'Girl music' chart for songs about girls. Why should we have a 'Christian music' chart for songs about issues encountered by Christians (or even not that at all, sometimes if the artist professes Chrisitan beliefs he or she gets lumped in with all the other Christian music even if the music they make doesn't even talk about Christian issues).

Can anyone else see how strange this is?

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-02-13T01:17:46Z</dcterms:modified>

Audio A Calls It Quits

I come before you today dear readers to tell you all hte very solemn news that Audio Adreneline has decided to disband. No longer shall we be hearing new songs from one of the mainstays of contemporary Christian music. Yes yes I know I called their last album shallow but to tell you the truth I've only listened to one song so I can't actually comment on that. I just heared in a review of the CD that it was shallow. Good 'ol Auldio A, who gave us hits such as Some Kind of Zombie, Big House, Hands and Feet, Chevette, Ocean Floor, Leaving 99,Church Punks, Underdog and many others will be giving us no more so we will just have to contet ourselves with listening to them over and over again until we let it go and just accept that they aren't going to be making any more.

Of course, it would help if my computer could read their CD's (which it can't for some reason) so I can put them on my iPod. I don't think they are write-protected, I think it's either a hardware or software problem to do with my CD drive or iTunes. But who knows. The reasons cited for breaking up this classic band who has been touring since something like 1991 was that the main singer's voice just doesn't have any sing left in it (those wern't the exact words but the spirit is there) and so he couldn't commit to a regular touring schedule anymore. Of course they are releasing a commemorative goodbye CD and doing a commemorative goodbye tour but, of course, such a tour will never make it to Australian shores. Fiddlesticks. Anyway, whoever tries to fill the shoes of Audio A will have huge shoes to fill.

On a lighter note I'm all enrolled up for uni now. Majors are still Writing and Digital Video in a Bachelor of Communications. The sweet thing is that I managed to get my timetable onto 3 days so I've got two plus the weekend free to ... Study. Yeah that's it. And work. At my new job that I am yet to apply for. Ooh don't you worry, I've resolved to get a new job before I troop over to Griffith, Gold Coast Campus so the deed will be done. (As if all my other resolutions worked out so far). But this time I'm serious. I've done my resume and everything.
