Rest assured that his age is somewhat younger than the average blogger. It brings the mean age down from about 14 to about 10, if you understand maths-talking.

Or should that be median age? It's been, like, four years since I did that stuff in Year 11. (WOA! Four years!?! That's nearly five years ago!)

But enough about that. The entire POINT of this entry was so I could tell you about an interview I did with said Matthew. I answer questions about favourite meats and Perth and my old job that I did for ARDS back in the day last year.

Find it IN THE CAPITAL LETTERS.

More on the car once I can find someone to take my photo while I'm draped across the bonnet - pouting sexily.

Rohan

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2008-01-25T14:54:11Z</dcterms:modified>

Tetrisurrealism - Nintendo DS Lite - You are my Hero

So now I can play Tetrisurrealism all I want. I got myself a DS Lite. Next piece: a bear.

What with a trade-in of my old, grey DS that looked like a 1980s spaceship, this didn't cost me very much at all. Now I've got myself a sexy black DS Lite. It looks like you could hop in and drive away, squealing car noises into the nicely centred microphone. It is, unfortunately, a fingerprint magnet, but that's a small price to pay for looking so bad-arse. My microfibre cleaning cloth helps too.

Does anyone else feel like a real dumbarse when the game you're playing requires you to call out into the mic to a character stuck behind a wall? I was sitting in the living room playing that new Zelda game they've got and it's all, "I don't think she can hear you!" So I called out "HELLOOO?" and everybody looked at me. Thank goodness I wasn't sitting on a bus or in a plane with strangers, they would have thought I was a real loony. It's bad enough when you have to blow up your balloons in Mario Cart and everybody thinks you're having a panic attack, but when they start thinking you've got multiple personality disorder things could get a bit weird.

Speaking of multiple personality disorder, I'm also just recently into that show Heroes in a big way. I'm only watching season one at the moment, which I'm well aware is old news - particularly for my American readers. But it's just brilliant, you know? It's like X-men but with less spandex and not so much of a good guy/bad guy divide. The characters have agendas and they are not necessarily good or bad. Sometimes the agendas come into alignment and sometimes they conflict. This means the story is very dynamic and unpredictable. A nice, refreshing change.

It's also raining a little bit just now. End of the buildup? I hope so.

(I just love, love Good Game, especially the Qtr Circle + A segment. I have no idea why. I'm a total n00b.)

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-10-31T05:52:53Z</dcterms:modified>

Thankyou Steve!

I know this is a couple of days out of date, but I only just saw it yesterday, and then I wrote this post, and then Windows Live wouldn't post it. I think it's fairly obvious I haven't been doing too much extra thinking this week, which is where most of my blog entries come from. All my thinking has been taken up with thinking about assignments. Also, all my spare time not spent working or doing assignments has been spent beating my mind to the consistency of a shriveled cucumber in a blender by watching YouTube on the internet and Robot Chicken on the DVD player.

Also, I've been eating a lot of pizza. Eagle Boys pizza. Jesh works there you see, and it's actually pretty good pizza. Also their non-pizza products are the best non-pizza products I've ever seen sold at a pizza store. Their chicken dippers taste pretty good.

nataliedee.com

Although I liked video games just as much as any pre-pubescent boy when I was a... well... pre-pubescent boy, I've since lost the knack for them. Either that or I've just come to the realisation that I was never any good at them, and that I get pwned all the time even by the computer. I really enjoy the Civilization games though. They rock around the clock. But I just bought the new expansion pack and it doesn't seem to work on my laptop, which is weird because the original Civ IV worked wonders on this thing.

marriedtothesea.com

Lately I've been getting heaps of really annoying people harassing me on YouTube. Honestly there is no social etiquette there. "Please subscribe to me!" "Watch my videos now!" "Please be my friend" "You look hot". Yes, I've even been getting people telling me I'm hot as. This is a bit weird to me, because if I said that to a girl she would probably pull out her pepper spray (you know... cyber pepper spray) and shoot me right in the face with it. But apparently girls feel like they can go around picking and choosing their guy-crushes as they wish and telling said crushes all about it. I try and look/sound flattered, I guess I am, but I see a real inequality there.

I maintain that text-bloggers are much saner than vloggers. If any girls out there in the text blogging world have had any crushes on me they've been politely quiet about it. And for the sake of interacting with people on the internet I think that's the best way to go. Text-bloggers must think about stuff more than video-bloggers before they actually go and say it.

So in a desperate attempt to end this blog entry with your mind on something other than the problems I'm having with the weirdos on YouTube (Mum! They're not a real problem! You won't be hearing about this on the news!) I'm now going to skillfully steer the conversation this way. It is being so skillful that you have no idea that I'm even doing it.

LET'S HAVE A PIZZA PARTY!

nataliedee.com

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-09-24T07:58:50Z</dcterms:modified>

Best. In just under two years after the purchase, MySpace is no longer the in thing.

Who says?

We do.

I mean, of course, "they do". Now instead of MySpace it's all about Bebo and Facebook. I can't personally tell the difference between them - they are all equally annoying.

I didn't want to get a MySpace. I thought it was an ugly website and not at all user friendly. I didn't get what MySpace could offer that my blog and Windows Messenger couldn't give me already. But fairly soon I was missing out on invitations to things because there was a bulletin on MySpace about it. Also, all my bands were making these exclusive announcements on MySpace and I was falling out of the loop. So I caved in to the market pressure and got one.

I still don't like it. I've never personalised it. One of the most common comments on it is that it is ugly. Honestly I can't be arsed to make it nice and pretty, filling it out with personal descriptions of myself. And I'm pretty glad I didn't now, because everyone in Darwin who used to be all about the MySpace is now all about the Bebo.

The story is different down south however, where everyone is all about the Facebook.

Bebo and Facebook "helpfully" made automatic pages for me when some old highschool friend/acquaintance fed my email to these sites to send me an 'invite to Bebo/Facebook' email.

Now my donotremovemybeetrootstain inbox is filled with "Such and such has added you as a friend on Bebo" emails. I've never seen the pages Bebo or Facebook made for me. I bet they're ugly as all hell. Big, white, content free spaces displaying a couple of dozen people who are friends with it. Perhaps there is even a comment or two asking it how it is going.

Those people will never get an answer. I spend enough time online as it is and I'm a member of too many sites to mention. No more, I say. I don't want to have to check three social-networking websites for messages! That would drain away otherwise better-spent time online writing blogs or making videos for YouTube.

I think creating content is better than creating profiles on social-networking sites. But that's just me.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-09-05T04:37:21Z</dcterms:modified>

Two Years of Sizzle Makes The Fillet Skillet No Flash in the Pan

My blog has its second birthday on the 31st this month. That's in two days. Unfortunately that'll be a Friday and I won't be able to get on here to post anything lovely on that day, so I decided to do it today.

It's kind of weird having blogged for two years. I mean, two years! Not that that is normally a long time, but for the internet that is a long time. I'm practically an old hand at this now.

I think it's the technophilia talking, but these last two years have been wildly different than the rest of my life. Of course, they would have been different anyway, without the internet. In the last two years I finished school, visited the States for a second time, started uni and then moved cities (even if I'm moving back again soon). None of that had to to with the internet at all and would have happened anyway.

But I was able to record it here right?

In doing so I've made contact with a number of people who I've not yet met, but I value those relationships highly. Everyone from Peri in Adelaide, Jos in Costa Rica, Josh in Florida, the Pink Booted Philosoper in England, the Social Bunny in Sydney and Azukar in the Blue Mountains (or somewhere near there anyway). Also, there's been Lani in Melbourne, Hella Chella in Canada, Emily in the U.S. somewhere and Gueryn from Australia somewhere.

If I've forgotten somebody then I humbly apologise - please remind me of you and I'll gladly stick you in that list. It's not that I don't care about you, it's just that I'm writing this entire thing off the top of my head.

Of all the people I just mentioned, I talk to about half on Messenger, meaning I'm closer to some than others. But I read all of their blogs and comment. They usually comment back. This year I've been on Messenger about four or five times though - I'm talking about generally over the two years. That's not to say that the relationship is limited to blog-reading though, a number of those people are ex-bloggers, who I still talk to because I enjoy their digital company so much.

I think it's pretty twee when my lecturer gets up and all she talks about is how amazing all the things we can do on the internet are. I think we'll look back on this period of time and just wonder at how full of ourselves we were. But I am, genuinely, excited at the thought that, had it not been for the internet and blogging, I would have never made contact with these people and would never have known them.

And that's what I'm really celebrating when I think about these past two years. It's not about my blog at all really, it's about these other people's blogs. I've been reading other people's thoughts online for two years and it's been great. Thank you to you all for reading The Fillet Skillet and particularly for writing your own blogs - giving me the chance to read and enjoy them.

Aww, it's so mushy and sweet! Like sticky rice!

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-08-29T07:39:10Z</dcterms:modified>

Fascinating Factoid

Well lookey here.

That sure is an interesting bit of information.

You think I could use that for my assignment on Communication Technologies?

Before just a minute ago, I always assumed I was alone in that I use the internet for news and entertainment more than I use the telly. I thought that because I don't have a properly-functioning television in the house (it kind of works, I caught the last ten minutes of the Chasers War on Everything last night).

But apparently even people with proper television sets are using the internet more now.

Of course, I always thought it would eventually go this way, but seeing as my lecturers are telling me that the internet is still the poor-child of mass-media (even though it is the future, they say) I just didn't think that it would be that popular that fast.

Besides, who would want to watch proper, scripted programs with sizable budgets when you could be watching user-generated content made by a pimply ninteen-year-old boy with a digital camera?

Or I could be generalising. You could be watching user-generated content made by a loony thirty-year-old with a $50 web cam in her study. Or maybe her web cam cost three times that much.

This will blow television right out of the water. I can see it now.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-08-23T04:03:45Z</dcterms:modified>

Tech Blog Plug

I have found a new blog/news site that has nothing to do with my life but somehow interests me greatly. It is Engadet, a blog that gets just as worked up over the specs of the latest Sony laptop releases as Women's Weekly does over the name of Princess Mary's newest baby girl.

I don't know why I enjoy reading this blog so much, it has nothing to do with me. Half of this stuff is never even launched in Australia (it has a very Yank-centric view of the technology world). It must have something to do with being a boy. Gadgets gadgets everywhere...

Take, for example, this 'how to' guide. It ever-so-usefully takes me through step-by-step how to put the guts of a Playstation 3 controller into the shell of a Xbox 360 one. This is way outside my technical skill to do, also I do not own either a Playstation 3 ($1100 bucks for a console?!? What the hell?!?) or an Xbox 360. In actual fact, I'm considering going back to the good old days of Nintendo which I miss so very, very much. So really, this article has nothing to do with me. But I'm absolutely captivated that somebody out there does this for a hobby (or a living) and produces these artifacts that are just so... so... weird.

So there's that.

Also, check out my 'guestbook.' It's not really a guestbook in the traditional sense of the word, where people leave inane little comments. The grand ideal is that you are free to put whatever you like there: pictures, stories, YouTube embeds, messages, poems - anything. Of course, inane little comments are welcome there as well, the idea is just that I don't want you to feel limited in what you can put. I currently have a link in my left-hand sidebar to the book or, if you don't feel like clicking a link, the book can be found at the very, very bottom of the main page. Or you could click HERE, which might be quicker.

Fillet

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-05-02T04:36:59Z</dcterms:modified>

Technical Support

Co-worker: "Rohan! Now help me out here, let me walk you through this problem"
Me: "Ok"
Tech: "Yes, help me out here. That would be David"
Tech: "..."
Me: "We are a very small company"
Tech: "Ok, well I'll talk to David again - but there is no hardware problem on your computer - so, help me out here, I suggest you reformat and reinstall Windows"
Me: *sigh* "Ok"
Tech: "Thanks buddy, and I apologise again about what happened yesterday - that our representative did not fix the problem"
Me: "Yeah thanks"

As to my knowledge, he did not call David.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-04-18T06:37:31Z</dcterms:modified>

No Fillet Media This Week... Awww

Yeah I know - the blog had a bit of a rest this week. It's not that I don't have much content to share with you, it's just that what with Easter Monday public holiday and the day of tomorrow (not going to uni) I don't really have the ability to upload anything.

Also after that dream entry I am rather out of ideas.

Basically all my content that I made for The Fillet Skillet this week was media-based (pictures, videos, comics, etc) and I cannot upload these at work. So basically this entry is one long excuse to myself (because everyone knows that I update far too much anyway). Hendra, this entry is the 30 seconds of your life that you should complain about, not the previous one.

So I guess my videos were pretty popular for someone who has never posted anything on YouTube before, plus I got a fair few positive comments from people here and on MySpace so I've decided the effort to payoff ratio is low enough to continue with this little venture. How about I finally do what I threatened to do all Year 12 and post my Rohan of the Ring: an autobogette to YouTube? It's a short film I made, based on an extremely extreme version of myself who likes Lord of the Rings far too much. I just need to rip it to my laptop and then put it up there.

So you can look forward to that.

Also, I recorded a video from my brother's apartment about some mysterious explosions in Darwin. I still don't know what they are. There are a few monologues too. They are all coming your way soon.

Comics are difficult to put up here at the moment because of Internet Explorer's retardedness (and Firefox's semi-retardedness on Live Spaces) so those are going on a short hiatus - I will not be making any more for the moment. Don't worry if you're a fan though, I enjoy making good ones too much to just stop altogether. Plus I have some on paper that I'll draw on computer one day - that 'one day' literally meaning "sometime in the later half of this year at the latest."

So don't fear, although the cupboard is bear (woo for spellchecker! Of course I meant 'bare') this week, we will reap a most bountiful harvest in the weeks and months to come.

And this is the most I've ever sounded like an administrator, ever.

Fillet

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-04-16T04:29:41Z</dcterms:modified>

April Fools

Well, I fell for it. <----(Psst - that was a link)

But I think to my defense I actually read it on the second of April (because of the time difference) so I wasn't on my guard.

Perhaps Google should release these things as April 1 ticks around? No matter though, it was a good joke, and I love it when corporations play tricks on the public (you know, for April Fools, when it's just to rip the consumer off then I get pretty mad).

Fillet

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-04-03T04:12:33Z</dcterms:modified>

Why Blog?

Now that's a good question Josh, and one I intend answering.

I
started this blog with a view to showcasing some pictures that I had
taken - the reason for the unusually large photo album above my blog. I
still use this blog to share pictures to an extent, although I've been
thinking about switching to Flickr for a while now. But of course,
that's not 'blogging' in the regular sense.

I started writing this thing on the day I opened it, but as you can see
it wasn't much. It was the positive feedback that got me coming back
again and again - and really, the ego factor is still a big thing. But,
like Josh, it is not the only thing.

The fact is, I love writing
and blogging has increased my enjoyment of it as well as giving me lots
of practice in it.This space has helped me develop a style, experiment
with punctuation and it all happens instantly. The self-publishing part of it is the greatest thing about a blog, and the most satisfying.

Also,
the 'brain explosion' thing is a major reason to blog. It feels rather
good to get something off your mind to the entire internet, even if
it's just an idea for a silly drawing or an annoyance you had today.
Which brings me to...

My comics. I can self-publish my drawings
and get feedback on them almost immediately. While these aren't the
reason for this blog, they have become a popular feature. If it were
not for this blog, I would never have started drawing them because they
are silly. But people expect to find silly things on the internet and
they love it when they do, so my comics are right at home here.

Additionally,
this blog helps keep me in touch with everyone. Sure, I still ring my
friends and talk to my parents and siblings, but The Fillet Skillet
is a way of keeping in touch with EVERYBODY easily and cheaply. I can
tell them all what I'm up to in one go without having to repeat myself.
In fact, I believe that is the second reason why I continued to blog in
the first place - because I got sick of typing out the same thing over
and over in MSN Messenger.

Finally there is the
social-networking aspect. Although I'm now very time-poor and can't
talk on Messenger much anymore, I have made a lot of very good friends
via our blogs. I wish I could use Messenger more, because it's much
better than leaving comments, but comments are a satisfactory way of
communicating with net-friends.

Oh yes and I forgot, blogging is a challenge.
Hits, comments, links - how many can you get? How high can you get on
Google? Or Technorati? Or Baidu even? With blogs, the effort you put
into them has a more-or-less immediate payoff that you can see. This
one is rather tied to ego, but it's the competitive side of ego. I like it.

So,
like Josh, my blog is probably about my ego. It's about me and things
that concern me, as well as things that entertain me. But there's the
'keeping in touch' aspect as well, and the ability I now have to make
friends over the net. It is satisfying because of the immediacy of the
thing. Effort = results (although luck has something to do with it too).

Let me know if this makes sense, or if I haven't quite hit the nail on the head yet.

Fillet

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-03-19T04:04:57Z</dcterms:modified>

I Hate Phone

THIS IS NOT MY DRAWING. IT IS FROM nataliedee.com MMMKAY? Cool. Now go there please.

Here is a conversation I just had with a lecturer from Charles Darwin University:

Fillet: "Hi I need a detailed course outline for the course that you're lectureing. Could you do that for me?"

Lecturer: "Sure! I would love to do that! I'll email it to you immediately!"

Fillet (impressed): "Oh that would be great! My email is R-O-B-O-F-I-L-L-E-T at Gmail dot com"

Lecturer: "Let me read that back to you, R-O-B-O-S-I-L-L-E-T at Gmail dot com"

Fillet: "No no, not 'sillet.' It's 'F' as in 'Fish'"

Lecturer: "Oh! F! Ok that's no problem. That's an interesting email address, it's Robbo is it?"

Fillet: "No, it's actually 'Rohan' but it's kind of a long story"

Lecturer: "Ok Robbo, I look forward to you studying my course!"

Fillet: <pause> "Ok no worries. Thanks again. Bye"

Lecturer: "Bye!"

Oh yeah, and I have an additional, new email address now. I'm still using my old one though so don't freak out or anything. If you could all email me something on the above address it would save me a lot of bother transfering my messy hotmail address book over. Also that way I'll only get the important people's emails and not all the chaff from highschool. That would be great.

In the resulting email from that lecturer (who miraculously got the address right) she got my name right. The embarrasment that must have caused her must have been fairly great as far as casual embarrasment goes. Also, I didn't know if she was going to get the address right after all those verbal gymnastics. If she had got it wrong I would have needed to ring her up again, resulting in embarrasment on both sides.

So the phone is, essentially, an embarrasment engine. It manufactures embarrasment.

I Hate Phone.

Fillet

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-12-07T02:18:00Z</dcterms:modified>

Must Stop...

I must stop watching Ze Frank! Right now! My philosophy just isn't getting done. Nirvana and God aren't going to compare themselves you know! (Especially since Nirvana is a state of being similar to a candle being snuffed out but you know).

Ze Does Not Care For My Philosophy Assignment

Also, in the process of finding that picture using Google I discovered that Ze had a hand in designing MSN Spaces, the thing that spawned (read: grew into) Live Spaces! So... I am using one of Ze's creations! Thankyou Ze!

(For all those of you wondering, Ze has made it into my List Of People I'd Ask To Meet If I Had Cancer List. Other members of this list are David & Margaret (yes, they are one person) and... um... I may edit this later when I don't have work to do!)

"Create my evil empire of knowledge my nerdy drones!"

It really truely is you know. It's completely addictive! All those links... so much information... It's worse than drugs! I just can't stop! I think it's ruining my life. I'm even linking like a Wikipedian! Aaah! Help me! Somebody give me some help!

I'm feeling sick... just a bit... sick. I think I'm going to throw up. I THINK I'M GONG TO THROW UP SOME KNOWLEDGE YOU GUYS!! I THINK THERE IS GOING TO BE KNOWLEDGE ALL OVER THE CARPET IF SOMEBODY DOESN'T OPEN THE DOOR!

*heaves*

Did you know that Madagascar's only official language is Malagasy but it also has a defacto official language, French?

*heaves*

Did you know that even though he sounds like a robot to me, Metatron is one of the archangels mentioned in non-canonical Jewish texts?

*heaves*

Did you know that Philip Pullman is releasing a 'sequal' to the His Dark Materials trilogy (Yay! I loved His Dark Materials) named The Book of Dust? And did you know that the Archbishop of Cantebury wants them to be 'taught' in British schools as a part of religious education despite teir supposedly anti-Christain content?

*heaves*

Did you know that the African Union wants to work towards a single African currency similar to the European Union's Euro and that this currency is sometimes unofficially called the Afro?

*heaves*

Did you know that there have been a number of incidents of exploding whales within the past few decades worldwide?

*dry retching*

And... And... And...

*regains control over knowledge spasms*

I think I need help. And I think you guys need some new linoleum. I did it over here because I thought it would be easier to clean up but I think I stained it somehow. I don't know how. It's, like, got trivia stuck to it or something. Yeah, you guys are definately screwed. Are you renting? Holy crap. I'll pay half if you want.

I wonder if they have an article on Wiki addiction? Perhaps I should create one...

Oh yeah, I'm a member of Wikipedia now. Here is my user page. Typically someone had already taken the name 'Fillet' so I had to settle with 'RoboFillet' again. My userpage isn't very exciting at the moment. I'll have to spruce it up a bit to make myself look cool. That's so important these days.

But yeah, I hope to make some sparse, yet valuable additions to the universal coprehendium of all human knowledge. Then hopefully people will follow the links to my user page and start reading this. If I get one extra reader then thats increasing my readership by 10% (am I right?!? No, seriously, am I?) so that's pretty good.

Oh yes there is that ulreior motive going on too. But also the Wiki-addiction. I just can't help it. Can't... help... it...

Oh knowledge, you sweet siren, why do you sing to me so? After all, you do not love me, you leave me wrecked on the cold rocks of dependence. Flee from me knowledge! Flee! But... just... not too quickly.

Wait, come back

Fillet.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-10-12T12:32:56Z</dcterms:modified>

Googlicious!

Hey! I'm just about to go to bed and what do I click on? Google in other languages. You can get it in all sorts of crazy tounges, some of them not even real languages!

Like, try the Elmer Fudd version of Google. It's 'pwetty sweet' that's all I can say.

Or how about the Bork, bork, bork! version of Google. I don't even know what that is (anyone care to enlighten me) but it's pretty damn crazy.

And try the Hacker language version. I think it r0xx0r5 my 5Ox0rS. Lol and stuff.

Pig Latin anyone? Google's got it. Relive all your old schoolyard times here. Even though I'm pretty sure that Pig-Latin was (is?) an American thing. But considering 3% of my readers are American I think it's still pretty apt.

They've even got Google in Klingon for goodness' sake! I mean, there's about twelve people who speak it fluently in the world! It's so crappy that the image isn't even easily sporkable. It's composed of about five little images that all mesh together to make the words "Google tlhlngan Hol". Just click the link if you want to see the real thing. Oh yeah, and to all those wannabe speakers of Kingon who would email me telling me that Kingon is a real language made by a real linguist etc etc I'd say this: If it's such a real language then why aren't you abusing me in Klingon huh? That's right. Learn to speak the language you defend, Trekkie! Then I might actually listen to you.

And how's this for a crazy language! Welsh! I mean, ha ha! Ha. ha. *cough* Ok ok, that was in bad taste (if you're Welsh anyway). I apologise to my widespread Welsh readership. Especially all those Weshmen (Welshpeople? Welshies? Welsh Officers?) who actually speak Welsh. I'm bound to be inundated with complaint letters.

Oh, and they have it in Esperanto as well. Yay! Not that the Esperanto speaking community would ever let Google get away with not having a Google page for the language. It supposedly gives it credibility. I'd rather more people spoke it myself but, you know, whatever. That's not the reason I want to learn it anyway.

Anyway, Google on my children. Also, Google, will you please put me higher in your rankings? I know your super search bots can read these words and I figure they're intelligent enough to read them so I thought I'd better just put it out there and ask.

How about it? Email me, I'd love to hear from you. Thankyou Google.

Fillet

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-10-03T15:10:36Z</dcterms:modified>

Well I Thought It Was A Little Bit Unfair

Well I thought it was just a little bit unfair of me to post up a big ol' mindless quiz without actually providing you with any content. As I result, I am going to whine about how my readership has temporarily gone down. Enjoy. (Gosh, no wonder my readership has temporarily gone down).

My thougts are that everyone is holidaying in a country with almost nil internet access, like North Korea or Yemen. In that case, I would ask that you go to nearby China or Saudi Arabia, where internet access is plentiful. I would say South Korea, but in that case you'd have to go through the de-militarised zone and that has a lot of barbed-wire. Also, in China you don't have to know my URL to see my site, all you have to do is type an arbitrary phrase into Baidu.com and my site will come up.

If you do not know where Yemen is, here is a map of Yemen:

Another reason my blog might be losing popularity is because people are re-discovering that there is life outside of the home study or the bedroom or wherever the computer is. Or they might have all moved to MySpace. There's that too.

Or they could be playing with newborn puppies. But I wouldn't be messing with newborn puppies if I were you, they are highly addictive and you just can't stop once you start. It's a total impossibility. Even if you go to rehab you'll just start again once you get out. Puppies are bad news guys, don't even think about it.

So yeah. I know that my readership has gone down because of that stat-counter thing that I have. It's pretty awesome, it tells me all this stuff about the people who go on my page. In the last week I haven't been having many returning visitors that's all. I mean, what does this mean? Do you all have lives or something. Gosh, that's a bit sad. Having a life is just so unfasionable these days. Not when you can have MySpace instead.

But you know how much MySpace sucks right? Forget puppies (or religion), MySpace is the real opiate of the masses. I think Hitler could have got away with it if he'd just used those handy-dandy bullitens to spread his propaganda. It could have been titled in a way that would make everyone read it like: "Hitler: what I got up to last night! 18+ only!" and then in the text of it it would be all the usual stuff, you know, "Germany is strong, the Jews are bad etc etc." I think he could have convinced alot of people that way - especially if he had Winston Churchill on his friends list.

Also, if you ask me, I think that Oscar Wilde would have gotten a lot more famous a lot quicker if he'd just had a MySpace account. You know, he could have been writing all his stories and poems like he does but he could have been doing them as blog entires! It would have meant that he could keep publishing material even while he was in jail for sodomy. He could have even posted his plays in video form onto YouTube and become an internet meme! Also, he could have branched out into haiku bullitens on MySpace telling everyone about his Absinthe and Opium trips that he went on. Like:

Absinthe, green fairy

Floorboards sprouting yellow flowers?

Never been seen before

Or how about:

The walls are melting!

We all must quickly clean up

Before Mum gets home.

Actually I don't know for sure if he did go on such trips but I think he did. So yeah, lawyers of Oscar Wilde, you can just go ahead and, you know, not sue me because I put that discalimer right there. But in any case I think that would have done good old Oscar a lot of good. I could also talk about how iTunes would have helped Mozart in spreading his music or how Wikipedia would have helped Eienstein in his day but I won't. I'm tired and have a life don't you know? Also, I'm working on an assignment tomorow. But I MUST, MUST, MUST do something on Thursday with people or else work will ring up and ask if I can work and I will have to say yes becasue I need money for... something special (most of you know about it but I'm reserving the final announcement until I get my ducks in a row).

Quack quack.

Fillet.

P.S. It just occured to me (29/9/06) that I cannot count sylables and so suck at haikus. But considering that the above haikus were supposed to be written by Oscar Wilde while he was high I think you can forgive me for putting in to many sylables. Oh, I can count sylables but whenever I try to do a haiku it seems that I always put in an extra one. Especially at 1:19 in the morning.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-09-29T05:11:53Z</dcterms:modified>

When I Hear The Tone, I Smile

Yesterday afternoon I got broadband installed. I know I know I said it was impossible but not so long ago they decided that my suburb was in fact part of civilization and upgraded the phonelines.

Now, my broadband isn't very quick. I don't know why. It's quicker than my old dialup when I download stuff generally I think it's still the slowest broadband connection I've ever been on. But I'm still happy. Why? Because I can sit here and listen to the dial-tone on the phone while I write this entry.

Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

It's really awesome. It also means that I can go on the internet whenever I like without worrying about missing calls. But you already know that because you all have broadband already. Just humour me you guys ok? It's still new for me.

In other internet news I thought that now is the time to admit that I have a MySpace page. I still hate MySpace but what with slightly-faster-broadband it makes the user-unfriendlyness of it all slightly not so bad. At the moment the address is on the righthand side of the site just under the hit counter (quickly approaching 1000 unique hits now!) but after this semester it will move to where the 'Fillet's Other Blogs' section is right now. If you want to add me as a friend then no problem but just make sure I know you're doing it. I don't usually add random people just to make myself look uber popular. I'm sorry Vicky from the United Kingdom. You are rejected. So there. I will, however, add people who read my blog who I don't actually know (like all bloggers do on MySpace) just let me know you read my blog and I'll add you.

I won't be blogging on MySpace though. Live Spaces is where I will stay for now. I need to archive all my old posts though. That'll be really difficult. So there is today's update. Boring no? Well I'm fiddling around with the lists later on today so I'll have more links to more stuff. Stay tuned.

UPDATE: I just realised that by using this blogging platform I'm alienating all those users who use FireFox and (shudder) NetScape... and those others that I've forgotten about. If I were using another platform then I'd get those readers as well... I think, in order for Microsoft to actually get Live Spaces to be taken seriously is to make it compatible with other browsers. Just a thought.

Fillet.

(P.S. The blog wasn't really talking to you on that birthday post. It was just Fillet screwing you all around. - Rohan)

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-09-07T12:20:22Z</dcterms:modified>

Oh Wow! I'm Turning One Today!

Hello, Rohan doesn't know this but I'm talking to you without him knowing. Who am I? I am The Fillet Skillet. I'm talking to you because it's my birthday today and Rohan hasn't figured out that in order to publish an entry, you have to put a title in first otherwise the button isn't clickable. Silly Rohan. There he is doing a philosophy assignment. When will he ever learn?

I was born a year ago today. It was the last day of winter and Ro was procrastinating on his non-compulsory history assignment. Nothing much as changed today, it's still the last day of winter and he's still procratinating (for the record, I know for a fact that he didn't finish that histroy assignment but he still got an A- for effort). Today, unlike last year, is not a Wednesday - it is a Thursday - so there will be no rushing off to watch Spicks and Specks tonight. Oh no. But tonight will be good for him, he'll have finished that Philosophy assignment he's been procrastinating on and he'll be looking forward to a nice weekend down at Byron Bay (I think that's where he said he was going anyway) for his uncle's birthday party which has a name to easily misinterpreted to print here.

"Hey what are you doing?!?"

Oh man. That's Rohan. I think he's on to me.

"What's going on here?!? Is my blog attaining sentiency as well as my alias?!? This is screwed up."

Don't worry I'll be finished soon.

*Rohan gives a dark look*

Hey, why don't you go and listen to some music or something. Or how about doing that philosophy assignment that you're always going on about. You know, you're not any cleverer just because you wound up in a course that concerns the Enlightenment so you don't have to go bandying it about all the time: 'Oh, don't distract me, I've got a philosophy assignment to do!'. Honestly, you're your own worst enemy - it's not done because you're harping on at me right now. Go away.

*Rohan pauses and goes away*

So anyway, I've posted alot of things about Rohan over the past year, getting a phone, finishing school and going to America, Christmas, getting my OP, going to PlanetShakers, starting uni, turning 18, the Australian Gospel Music Festival, Uniting Church National Assembly journalism internship and getting my Ps along with a whole host of other, more insignificant things. Over the year I've been blogged in approximately once a week (probably more). If anyone wants to count exactly how many entries I consist of up to and including this one that would be cool. I'll make Rohan buy you chocolate.

"Hey!"

Gah! I thought you were doing your oh-so-intellectual assignment!

"Yeah well I finished a couple of hours ago. Are you telling me that you've not finished yet?"

Well I put it on 'Save as draft' for a couple of hours...

"Geez, I want to blog some stuff of my own! Why won't you let me live?"

Rohan, you never say that

"Just because you're a year old doesn't mean that you can talk back to me you know"

Apparantly it does.

*Rohan's eye twitches as he turns to leave*

Ok, so despite Rohan being mad at me now, he's pretty glad that winter is over again. Not that we've had all that much of a winter this year again but you know... Also, Rohan hasn't hit real life yet. I think he was deluding himself a year ago today.

Here's to many eventful blog entries in the future.

Also, I want birthday cards. (Send them to Rohan)

The Fillet Skillet

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-08-31T11:26:05Z</dcterms:modified>

Entertainment

Just a quick one for now - I may or may not do another tonight.

Last night I won a CD from 107.3 Life FM, the Gold Coast's Christian radio station. The challenge was to spell "The Shed" and whoever rang in first got a Leo Nine CD for free. I decided to let it slide at first because I'm not a particular fan but then after two songs nobody had rung in so in a fit of impulse I rang in and spelled "The Shed" and won the CD. I'm going to pick it up today, tomorow or on Friday - whenever I have time.

In other news I found this comic that I found amusing in an evil kind of way. Its a colaborative effort from Drew and Natalie Dee, creators of Toothpaste for Dinner and Natalie Dee respecitvely. It is called Married to the Sea and at first I didn't get the humour. But now, oh yes, how I love these comics. I'm going to get my sister to buy me some shirts, one from each site, so I can wear them. I won't tell you which ones though, it'll have to be a surprise.

In other other news I've almost finished categorizing my old blog entries! Once that is finished I'll have to get onto archiving them in hard copy - I don't want to lose all this work if the MSN server goes down for some reason.

So anyway, off to my first lecture now. Gee Tee Gee etc etc.

Fillet

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-10-16T02:49:58Z</dcterms:modified>

So Much Toothpaste, So Little Time

Go Here. That is me. Ok, now read on.

So basicly I'm writing this to tell you all that I've re-fallen in love with Toothpaste For Dinner since high-school when I used to use up all my allocated downloads saving my favourite online comics to my allocated amount of student save-space. But where are they now huh? Where did it get me? Now they are gone. Deleted. Or at best locked up nice and tight behind a zip-folder for archive purposes. Heh. If the school ever went back to look at what I had saved in there (a whole lot of useless crap) I'm sure they'd be real dissapointed in me - the perfect prefect that I was. Just go and read. And marvel at the sheer... whateverness they all have. You can't deny. They have X factor alright.

My other nerfarious purpose for this blog was to blog about the Toothpaste for Dinner guy's blog. He likes it when people talk about him on the internet and sometimes links them from his site in a blog entry (but my site isn't listed there... yet). Thus goes my plan to get more traffic from the United States. And from the rest of the world too of course. But really, why should I think that people who don't know me would be interested in what I have to say, or the terrible thing that happened to me at this time or that time? My response to that would be, hey, I'm a blogger. You have to be at least partially full of yourself to have the audacity to do this and think people care and I guess that's me. Then also it seems that some people are just interested in that kind of stuff (that's me again) and love to read other people's rambles about themselves or stuff that's important to them.

And so I can hear the beer telling you to all burn down your neighbours house. At least, I think it's beer. Or mabie it's prune juice. But no matter, I have to work tomorow and I was in a very black mood today so I need to get some sleep so I'm not so grumpy tomorow. If I'd been working today I'd have probably yelled at the customers or stuck their pasta in with their tin cans just to spite them. But even when I'm in a good mood, I always laugh at them when they walk into the faulty automatic doors when they don't open.

Fillet

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-08-11T13:33:51Z</dcterms:modified>

New Things, or, How to Buy a Laptop Without any Money, or, How to Make a Really Long Song Title.

Joyous news my lovely readers! I am now mobile!

Since the last time I updated I've aquired two rather important items for myself. I'll list them shall I?

1. Sufjan Stevens' Come on Feel the Illinoise

2. A laptop.

The first is very lovely. After hearing such good things about him, I kept my eye out for his second-latest album, Illinoise. I saw it for five dollars less than I saw it elsewhere today and I must say, now I want his whole collection. I especially like the song, 'John Wayne Gacy, Jr.', the one about the serial killer who keeps the bodies under his house. It sounds disturbing and truthfully, it is. But it's also a truthful account of the human condition. You'll understand when you hear it.

And on to the second. I have aquired a laptop. Officially it's the "family's" laptop, but to be honest, there isn't much Mum is going to use it for and Dad? Well he'll probably never touch it. Mum bought it so I'd have a quicker way to take down my lecture notes and so she'd have it in case she wants to start privately tutoring. Also it's more powerful RAMwise than our home PC so it means I can do more stuff on it later on when I start editing my digital videos on it for uni.

**COMPETITION**

Help me come up with a name for it that sticks and I'll give you chocolate. In the case of Tom, to whom I already owe chocolate, I'll give him a bigger chocolate. Oh, I think I also owe Peri chocolate. I should start a list.

To be honest I feel a little guilty getting this new computer. Mum calls it 'help'. I don't know what to call it because I haven't done anything to deserve it. Like I said, it makes me feel guilty for some reason. I'm grateful for it. In fact, grateful is too soft a word. But there's something that makes you feel bad when someone says "Here, have this extravagant thing for free. I expect no repayment." What about everyone else? Don't they need laptops too? Even talking about it here makes me uncomfortable bcause I'm afraid that it'll come off as looking like I'm showing off. But I'm not. At least, I don't mean to.

Hmm.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-08-06T12:16:01Z</dcterms:modified>

Why am I Underwater? Where is my Dinner?!?

I found this via a link on the toothpaste for dinner website.

Now THIS is what should be sent around via email, not those stupid sentimental things.

(To those of you who have an extreme aversion to swearing, the 'F' word is mentioned ONCE. It my burn out your corneas).

Make sure all the pictures load before you start reading. I didn't know that looking at other people's dogs could bring me so much enjoyment. But then again, it would be nothing without the commentary.

Fillet

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-10-16T02:57:19Z</dcterms:modified>

Photos! Photos! Yay!

Well lookey here! When MSN moved to the 'live' network (I'm still to discover why it's called that) I can now add pictures again! (The link didn't work for the longest time there). So I've gone back to what this space was originally for, photos. I'm sad to say that I havn't really taken all that many new ones recently for Fillet Foto Folio II but the 'Red Sunset' series was a number of very lucky shots I got outside my house. If you haven't figured it out by now they can be found in 'Fillet's Foto Folio II' at the very end.

Of course, I've added the completely necessary photo album of pictures of me. You might not believe me, but they are basicly the only photos I have of myself at all. I have photos of my 17th birthday party but not my 18th. Why? Because I took the photos for my own 18th. Yes people, because I am young and my parents are old, I am always behind the camera. People like me are doomed to obscurity.

A little explaination might need to go into those Harry Potter ones there, it was a fancy dress party and I was told to come as him. It was handy that the studio-endorsed props were on sale in Toyworld at the time too. Um, all the rest are fairly self-explainitory I think... except of that one of Cherisse touching my nipple. That one's kind of weird.

Anyway, enjoy looking at me, and those pink-and-yellow skies.

Fillet

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-10-16T02:59:50Z</dcterms:modified>

Aah! I'm Alive!

I went to bed and spaces was how it always was and now... it's gone LIVE! I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing yet but we'll see. It's got a cleaner look... ooh! Let's go look at other people's enlivened spaces to see how they've changed!

**UPDATE**

Well it's pretty screwed up right now from what I can see, hopefully that'll get fixed in a couple of days. I think anyone who used tweak UI on their space is pretty mucked up. *shrugs* Doesn't affect me!

By the way, I found this comic that's just perfect for my space. *Titter*

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-08-02T00:17:41Z</dcterms:modified>

Plastic Surgery is Like a Cast Iron Pan

Well, more like a skillet. Because a pan is a skillet you know...

Speaking of cast iron pans, here is a comic that uses exactly that phrase.

Cynical comics about love aside, the reason why I bring up plastic surgery is because I have a new face for The Fillet Skillet. It's me, with a cast iron pan for a head. On that head it says "The Fillet Skillet". I'm quite proud of it.

Uni for one hour again tomorow so don't be surprised if I end up updating a record FIVE days out of FIVE. Someone should buy me chocolate... or that T-shirt that I've been angling for on my MSN comment after my name. You guys don't think I'm being serious about these thing but really I am... much like I'm always serious when I say I'm giving people chocolate. I'm seriously serious.

Just a quick one tonight, I have to be at uni by 9:00am tomorow, but just remember - wash your love and that old alley just won't be necessary!

And as they say in the awkward tounge that is Esperanto: Ĝis la revido! "See you again!" or, literally, "Until the re-meeting". See? Awkward.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-11-26T11:23:36Z</dcterms:modified>

Moo Reviews

I realised that Moo Moo wasn't going anywhere, mostly because I don't watch enough movies. So now I've changed it to Moo Reviews and it has a new web address: www.mooreviews.blogspot.com. There I will review anything and everything (Including Moovies and Moosic but other stuff as well). I thought if it became a bit broader then what I had it as then I would post to it more often. Meh.

Enjoy.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-07-26T13:56:34Z</dcterms:modified>

Spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam

I got spammed if you can't tell. Damit, I didn't think that Microsoft would allow such a thing. (lol). I allowed trackbacks from outside web sources and some search engine spammed me with them. I think they found me through Technorati. So now I don't know what to do. I'm gonna do the cleanup but that's gonna take for ages because of the way the delete system is set up. I don't know if I should allow trackbacks from outside MSN.

I guess if it happens again...

Needless to say don't encourage pedlers of spam by clicking on the links. It's not anything exciting, just a really dumb search engine that doesn't even work.

It's due on Friday and because I haven't written an academic essay for so long everything about it sucks. Can you write an intelligent essay about blogs? I know you can because I found some really good web sources on uber famous blogs like Rebecca's Pocket but do they count as authoritative? Nooooooo. At least I don't think they do. See, I need 10 sources, 5 from the net and 5 on paper. Now, blogging has only been around in any widespread form for about 5 or 6 years. Nobody's done anything about it on paper that's anything more authoritative than Blogging for Dummies. So why did I choose it for my topic? I don't know! But it's due on Friday now so I'll just have to try and sweet talk my tutor into accepting the authoritativeness of it as if I was in high-school again.

But anyway, why do I mention Rebecca's Pocket? Well it's one of the originals, started in 1999 when it was all gathering steam and she has this really good essay on her site that's really good. Look! I'm doing in-text hyperlinking like a full-on official blog! I feel like such a yuppie.

So yeah, about 80% of my sources are blog entries from people writing about blogging. I guess I could strech it and say that they are experts and that qualifies them for authoritativeness. *sigh* still, it's not on paper.

In other blogging news I joined this technorati.com thing to try and promote my two blogs but (of course) nobody's linked me so I'm always down the very bottom of the lists. The only time I've ever had a hit from that site was when somebody randomly clicked on it when they were searching for blog entries about AGMF and they sorted by how current the entries were. I was obviously near the top because I got one hit. But I hadn't even joined the site then and now that I have I haven't had one hit from there at all! Don't get me wrong, I know why that is, my blog is about me so people who don't know me would find it hard to get into. Thus I've created Moo Moo. I can't really talk about it's sucess there because it's just new but I think that I may be filling a niche there. At least with the Christian music reviews anyway because all the other CCM music review sites are all right-wing propaganda sites from the Bible Belt. Honestly I think that if I ever went there and they found out what I believe they would call me not a Christian and... I don't know... stone me.

But that's a topic for another blog. I have many gripes about people like that. I may or may not publish about that though, I might come off sending the wrong message. Although such a post would likely prove popular and perhaps garner a link by some passing stranger. Still, I guess it wouldn't be worth it. I might but I'd have to write it on paper and read it and then re-read it to make sure it says what I want it to say and by that time I may as well be doing my essay for uni. Which is what I should be doing now!!! Auagh!

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-08-03T03:00:19Z</dcterms:modified>

Some stuff you may be interested in

*Sigh* annonimity is down the toilet with this post. For some reason I've posted my email address, my precious email address, on my profile. Oh well it's only my student one from university but still... Plus I decided that I'm being paranoid about not posting my last name on the internet considering I just linked to a piece of work I did that was marked with my name. So there you go. Spammers, stalkers and other screwy types, come and get me!

eww

Plus I have a new blog! Yay! This one actually has a purpose for being and I hope I can stay motivated enough to keep it current. It's called Moo Moo which is short for Moovies and Moosic. It's where I review the latest movies and music albums that I've seen/heared. So if you take me out to see a movie from now on I can't lie and say that I enjoyed it if it was actually crap because this new blog necessitates, no, COMMANDS that I tell the truth about what I thought of the movie (or album).

Why you may ask? Well it's partly a scam to get more traffic to flow to this blog. The idea is that they search for movie reviews (or Christian music reviews) and they think:

'Oh yes, this site is highly informative. Wow, well lookey here, I've found myself the personal journal of the author of my oh-so most-favouritist blog because it has a link to it on my oh-so most-favouritist site. I think I may take a gander... oh no! I'm addicted to reading about this guy's super-interesting life! I can't stop! I think I may stalk him from now on using that last name he posted on the internet'

Or something like that anyway. But it's not just that, I also genuinely want to get some product review practice in so that I can point to this perhaps mabie one day when I'm uber famous and say "Well look there, I've been making bitter and cynical movie reviews on my blog since I was 18".

Or something like that anyway.

Here's the link: http://mooviesandmoosic.blogspot.com/

It will also appear on my 'Fillet's other blogs' section.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-08-03T12:29:37Z</dcterms:modified>

The City of the Internet - MARGINALLY UPDATED

Should the internet be an actual city with actual buildings it would be a very strange place. It would be kind of like Amsterdam in a way except bigger and with more flying cars. It's red-light district would constitute a whole 75% of the city and all of it's citizens would participate in building it's buildings. As a result, only 10% of those buildings are up to code.

It would be a city with total freedom of speech and as such would be the only city where a penis enlargement salesman would stand on a soapbox and try to sell his wares on the street corner (or, more accurately, barge into your house and yell his advertisment in your face). It would not have an overruling culture but instead consist of thousands apon thousands of little firewalled ghettos with residents that don't really venture out of them all that often for fear of being mugged by the disproportionately high number of criminals who inhabit the city.

Plague is also rife in the city. Should you leave your firewalled ghetto you run the risk of contracting an awful sort of virus. Like AIDS except it's transmitted through the air. Oh, the virus is generally cureable too given the right treatment so it's not like AIDS in that way either.

It is both a city of learning and a city full of total idiots. It is a city of chaos and contradiction where everybody is afraid of one another yet everybody feeds off one another. So I guess you could say that all the people who live in Internet City are all canibals. Yes, tribal rules govern the streets here and these rules are enforced by 'moderators' who patrol their own little patch but have no power outside it.

Yes, Internet City would be an interesting but dangerous place to live. But is our society turning into an Internet City on it's own?

(Sorry about that last bit. Digi Comm Tech is getting to me at last.)

As a side note my MSN profile nickname has changed from Crispy_Fillet_o_Fish to RoboFillet. I felt that RoboFillet was cleverer and made more sense. See, some people call me Robo and my i-alias is Fillet. Also Robo means 'Robot' which is kind of technological and futureistic so I thought that a RoboFillet would kind of be like a RoboCop in its whole cleverness.

Yeah? Yeah? Well I thought so anyway.

Hurmph.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-08-03T12:50:59Z</dcterms:modified>

Staggering Legends

Hey, check out my CyberStudies teacher's film artworks on the net. He doesn't know that I'm linking them yet but I'm sure it will be ok. I just loved them and I laughed till I cried. Right in the middle of class. Everybody was looking at me but I didn't really care. It was a lizard and it was paralyzed with a hand on it's back. And it was good.

Find them under my 'Websites (required reading)' list.

"Goodbye Mr Lizard, I'm sure we'll see you around someday"

"... making some sort of connection between things. He never understood it..."

"He could have eat all their little babies, but he didn't... cause he was a really nice guy"

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-10-16T03:26:58Z</dcterms:modified>

I hate this new version, I wanna play first edition!

Dear. Lord.

...

What have they done? No really, what? Why all this unnecissary crap that I don't need and will hardly ever use? Scratch that. I'll never use this unnecissary crap. Why is my profile showing all my comments thus making it impossible to understand? Why are my comments not functioning on other people's spaces? Why are there two links for the comments in the first place?

Why?

There was nothing wrong with the new version. Nothing. It was highly useable and rather efficient. It didn't take forever to load and I always knew that when I did *this* (for example, click 'publish comment') *this* would happen (for example, let's just say... I don't know... my comment would be published!!!)

Honestly there is nothing redeemable about this new version of MSN spaces. Nothing. If you can find a redeemable feature in this mountainload of useless garbage I want you to find it, bring it to my attention and then justify it's use to me taking into account all the rest of the useless garbage it came with.

I think we should all e-mail and petition Microsoft to give us our old MSN spaces back. Or at least a new version again that doesn't have all this crap in it. If I have to download something though I'm going to be really mad.

Grr.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-08-06T13:11:05Z</dcterms:modified>

Hit counter

Purely as an excercise in morbid curiosity I have added a hit counter to this blog.
